Where We Work in New York City
We cover all five boroughs, but the work is not the same in each of them. A prewar co-op in Manhattan, a Brooklyn brownstone and a Staten Island house with a garage are three different jobs with three different sets of problems. These pages say what actually comes up where you are.

Our locksmiths work across Manhattan around the clock, from the Battery up to Inwood: apartment and co-op entrance doors, townhouses, office suites and storefronts. Call any hour or send us a photo of the door. The first thing worth knowing is that a prewar co-op door usually runs a mortise lock body, and the part that fails is the cylinder screwed into it rather than the whole lock. Get that distinction wrong and a small job turns into a new door prep.

Our locksmiths work across Brooklyn at any hour, on brownstones, walk-ups, converted lofts and the storefronts along the avenues. Call or tell us what is happening with the door. Brooklyn is mostly wood doors, and wood behaves differently from the steel apartment doors in a Manhattan elevator building: it swells in summer, shrinks in winter, and takes a lock in a way steel never does.
-
Our locksmiths cover Queens around the clock, on one and two-family homes, garden apartments, the newer towers in Astoria and Long Island City, and cars. Call any hour or tell us where you are. Queens changes more from block to block than any other borough: a detached house with a side door and a garage in one neighborhood, and a mile away a high-rise where the front door runs on a fob and there is no keyhole at all.
-
Our locksmiths work throughout the Bronx at any hour, mostly on apartment buildings and the shared doors inside them, plus the single-family pockets in the northwest. Call or tell us which door is the problem. So much of the borough is multi-family that the work sits on the shared parts of a building. The entrance that has stopped latching, the intercom panel with half its buttons dead, the stairwell door propped open because its closer gave up.
-
Our locksmiths work across Staten Island at any hour, on houses, garages and vehicles. Call or tell us which door or which car. Staten Island behaves least like the rest of New York City. It is mostly single-family houses with driveways, garages and yards, so the lock work looks more like suburban New Jersey than a Manhattan apartment line.
